5.11 TacLite Pro Pants

Recently I purchased several items from LA Police Gear. I love this company they ship fast, do not charge me for items that are backordered and have a fantastic return policy.

One of the items I purchased are the 5.11 TacLite Pro cargo pants.

These pants are:

  • Lightweight 65% polyester and 35% poly cotton ripstop
  • Magazine/cell phone pocket
  • Two cargo pockets
  • Patented slash rear pockets
  • Treated with HT Teflon® wear resistant finish
  • External knife pocket
  • Rear web strap
  • YKK® zippers
  • Prym® snaps
  • Clip loop

They look just like typical Gap or American Eagle cargo type pants which I often wear but have many added bonuses of traditional cargo pants.

Even in non tactical/combat scenarios the extra material in the knees and ability to add knee pads is a huge plus for those of us who have kids. I find myself kneeling several times on a daily basis to tie shoes, pick up items that roll under the couch and so on.

The large pockets are very easy to get items in and out of. The specialty pockets for magazines and flashlights leave my pockets free for my more mundane items.

Extra large belt loops allow for reinforced gun belts in both 1.5 and 1.75 sizes.

They have held up under daily wear and are easy to wipe clean to avoid staining.

Since my initial purchase I have ordered 3 more pairs. Be aware they do run a bit larger than typical pants to allow for IWB. Also they offer an elastic waistband in portions to allow for expansion as needed. Some of my readers have found ordering a size larger to accommodate IWB is not a good choice with these pants. Your results may vary however.

Right now LA Police Gear is providing a free belt with purchase. Also the LA Police Gear price is lower than that found on the 5.11 Tactical website. If you are in the market for a new pair pants you can not go wrong with these.
